This is not directed at MNZ either and its just the way the western world has been moving. User pays. Profits before people etc. If you buy into it and do well all good.

The reason for the VICs success is its more about riders getting out and having a go! And the club seems to want to cater for as many diffent levels a possible and give everyone a fair go. Its good to see serious racers investing heavilly in the sport and doing really well but its also great to see people out there on what they brung having a blast enjoying the sport just a much and in alot of cases more.

I'll let you and Bob get back to discussing manlove now Scrivy!
Indeed, that series caters for a diverse range of levels from bargain basement to top shelf equipment and riders. If everyone at all levels are geeting something out of it then thats great.
Profit ( fair and reasonable ) is neccessary in order to be able to help people as there is inevitably a cost in doing everything. I have no problem with fair and reasonable profit and people giving something back.
What I do strongly object to in all forms is stifling legislation.

I witnessed it myself at the BADD 3 hour & was suitably disgusted.
F.F.S Does it really matter who imports Ohlins suspension & who is who's son in law?
Thanks Sidecar Bob for your last sentence. If that letter was indicative of how uninformed and inaccurate the author is then god help us. Lets draw reference to the fact that it only mentioned one person being the importer of Ohlins suspension, when in fact its an equal partnership and also incudes our wives. If there was a true conflict of interest then the son in law would be supplying the said bikes with his suspension components.

It would be pretty nieve to NOT expect some conflict of interest in the administration of motorcycle sport (at whatever level). If you had no "interest" in motorcycle sport why would you get involved ?

The only requirement should be that the conflict is declared and where that conflict may influence decisions the person who would benifit is not involved in the decision making.

As for the employment relations, MNZ board needs to make sure that they follow the letter AND the spirit of the employment relations act.
I for one would be VERY pissed off if MNZ funds where wasted on fighting personal greivence actions as they usually come about because employers try to get rid of someone they don't "like".
If Employees are not performing there are very clear rules about how to manage that.

Everyone is entitled to be treated fairly and with respect at work.

Exactly!! Procurement 101... we (Govt Dept) deal with all CoI's exactly this way too. CoI is usually mostly perception anyway, unfortunately 'perception is reality' for alot of people...

So have any clubs had a meeting of their members and voted whether to support the Patron or not?
