Saw you guys coming down as I was going back up. 11 am start was just too late for me as I had to be back in Akl fairly early, so I did it on my own. No fog this time, but some showers. Still a good ride.

    Had fun.

Stupid min 10 character thingy. You want more, fine you get more.

Roll out of bed and trun up at AB, weather looking cloudy, but not like perspiring down. Now know that the cafe doesn't sell V. 22 was great on the ride down, few spits but nothing to get the road greasy. Had a hairy moment when going to overtake Lou(?) and clutch slipping, decided not to take the courner wide throught the gravel patch, but shoot off the side road for a quick U turn, lost my way you could say. Pit stop at Ngaruawahia BP, all food finished when the heavens desided to open apon us. What were we to do? What all KB are good at, talk bollicks about bikes till it cleared up. Packed up when it cleared, and in ten minutes you couldn't tell that it had been raining. Chased the rain all the way north, odd momment of excitment here and there with the wet road, but had my groove on, and felt like I was well in control and riding smoothly in the conditions. JustSomeGuy was the day's sacrifice to 22 but was able to ride away from it, ups to you. Shoot by Death and Draco's for a quick coffee. Grand tour of the shed, 2 coffees and 2 DVD's later heading for home. (Right, right, left, right. Right?)

Thanks to all that made it a great day.
Speed limits are just a suggestion, like pants.

So that was you I waved at on 22 going north about 20kms from Ngaruawahia...thought all that chrome looked familiar!

After a brief 30 minute lunch stop at BP we headed back up 22 and about 15kms along hung a right into a nice winding road (didn't note the name?) which took us all the way through to Huntly, and from there we rode through some more country back roads to hook up to 22 again...looking forward to riding that same awesome route in future when the sun's shining!

I've done that road to Huntly a few times - it's a great ride. I think it's the Glen Murray road. Then the other one would be from Rangiriri??
