How do you justify starting a thread?

At times I find my self starting a thread that is a waste of space (you could say this one is too...). I just feel like starting one so I do so as nobody can stop me!

Other times I have this burning desire to say something, and that is enough to start a thread.

Do you contemplate and justify before you start one? Is it important to you that any thread you start adds value to the KB site? Or could you not care less?

May the bridges I burn light the way.

I start a thread if I want to know something and I can't find info about it, or if some event has happened that perturbs me.

If i got something to say that is enough to motivate me to start a thread, I do! But after first searching to see if a very similar thread already exists (something too many people forget)

I start threads when I'm bored...which is probably why most of them never get beyond one page...

put a poll with poorly chosen options, then youl proabably get 8 pages of ideas on what you should have put in said poll

I think a lot of them are like a "Wedgie" you get one and some feel they have to inform everyone about it. For advice of course in case they did it wrong.

A thread is like a wedgie? Like getting your undies pulled up to closely rub your rectum? Outch! And you recon there are people who like to inform the punters re that? I must have been living under a rock, as I have totally missed that subculture!

Anyhow: I recon there might be some need to expose your seelf in starting a thread??

If your rectum is rubbed during a wedgie you need to read my signature.

I think my avatar says it all.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

I started one thread, a while ago, it was a premonition about ACC and motorbikes. The thread went one step further to mention that when ACC is privitised as this govnt is most likely to do, that private insurers will not cover you if you ride a motorbike because this will cost them to much (a scenaro setting of course! eeek).

So I started this thread, because I thought it was important, so I really like to start threads that are a little off beat and left field, i think of them but usually never get around to starting the subject as a thread, i can get a bit distracted and all.
Though i do like reading the silly threads, and day to day news threads and options, so im glad people start them.
