Thank you all for the kind wishes and words!

We have been at the Waitaki Power Station 75th jubilee most of the day catching up with old friends acquaintances and workmates, so it has been a great day!

Three score years and ten (70) that used to be recognised as the average male life! Time to be optimistic about the future!

Now that I have made it into the bonus period of life I intend to make the most of it and am looking forward to that telegram from the Queen in 2039! (100yrs old)

Hopefully she will also congratulate me on the purchase of my newest (large capacity) motorcycle in the same telegram! Cheers, John.

My Grandma got a card from the Queen when she turned 100 with a pretty photo on the front. She got another one when she turned 101 with the same photo. Same at 102, and again at 103.

Someone needs to tell the Queen to get a wider range of cards in her Happy Birthday collection.
There is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing!

Mate did you hear about the 105 year old English woman who was upset she got the same card from the queen 5 years in a row. Queen was in the same outfit.

Then she complained about it and Prince Charming paid a personal visit and apologised.

The following year she didn't get a card ? Why?

70 Not Out! .. Well done John - that's a bloody good bat so far, mate. Now just stay in the crease .. mind your [sticky] wicket .. and you'll make that maiden test century, for sure.

Best wishes from the 'Old Country'.
