Just dreaming here, but if someone turns up with say for eg, carbon rims, would they even make it on to the track? Would be a shame to have paid and then get turned away.

Who's the right MNZ person to talk to? Being there's no Road race commisioner, that and MNZ's site isn't even working at the mo.

So what's up with Pete Tanner running his Aprilia at the Manfeild Nat's last year? He's got Ohlins forks strapped on it which must make it a Factory (R) version and therefore illegal.

Realistically, if you stick with the stock rims who would know you had a slipper bolted in anyway........?

I was reading section 13 of the Superbike rules regarding 'Special Invitation', is this only for pre '98 bikes or any bike?
Can anyone explain what this means please?

13 Other motorcycles that are Eligible.
Any Homologated motorcycle pre 1998. The rules are open for these machines.
In special cases an invitation may be issued to a motorcycle to compete in this class upon
request, there will be no entry fee for this special invitation, points and prize money will not
    apply.

So I'm wondering if someone was to enter just 1 or 2 of the Nats events with a bike that isn't legal spec wise, would they be told "sorry you can't race!"

Not talking the latest spec bike but an 06 bike, that may have a slipper clutch added or perhaps aftermarket wheels for eg.

Do you think it would be fairer if they raced but got no championship points perhaps? Wouldn't want to interfere with another competitors National campaign.

There must be a few bikes in this situation and would be a shame if they couldn't compete given the low entry #'s from last year.

Course ya can Tony , All ya have to do is front up and race , mind you , telling everybody your doing it with a dodgy bike is not the smartest shit youve done lol .

Its for special people on special bikes , EG a WSB rider on a missile or a guest appearance by the Brittan or summit.

You wouldnt be the first guy to run an illegal bike. I recall the '86 Nats where two top riders were disqualified for running 6 speed 750 gearboxes in their "production" GSXR1100's

    Surely you jest.

Have you ever ridden a bike with wheels on it that are significantly lighter and stiffer than stock?

Would be a waste of his talent mate, unfortunately for most of us the bugger is no mug on a bike, as proven at club level. Be great to see him mixing it up on the National stage.
