Red face October has been a good month

And now for a nice change from all the bitching and asking the same question for the 5th time.

I present my travel for October (which is not quite complete, but who cares).

The Grand Challenge was the primary contributor. It, along with a lead up organised by the Ulysses (500 miles), and another pre ride lead up of a Coro Loop in the middle of the night made up the vast majority of the distance.

Doesn't sound like a lot in the scale of things, 4500km, and it does exclude work (which keeps me out of mischief far too much) which tacks more than 1000km on - still on a bike of course.

I'll be in Taupo on Saturday to assist with Post Classic marshalling, and have the whole of Sunday to come back. I started looking at back routes (already done Poihipi, Old Taupo etc, so I need even more back routes) and random roads off Taupo-Napier Hwy started to look very appealing (wait... thats the wrong direction for Auckland and I only have 1 day)

The GPS brings in a whole new aspect. Some days I venture out looking to prove the GPS wrong, riding every little road I come across, just so I can post up the corrections and improve the accuracy of the mapset. Dead ends are great, paper roads, new roads, bring em on!

    Here's to actually riding

The hornet is the work bike (and I couldn't think of a better bike).

This is my weapon of choice for all my country riding:

Got all the gear like GPS, radar, heated grips etc.

Sounds like we have been up to similar stuff in different places. Good on ya girl.
So was it your 10th or am I getting myself confused?
We met ages ago when I was in Napier on SK1PY but I didn't realise you were on the GC or more likely got my names n faces confused.

Just had a 2050K over 3 days to follow on from GC and it was awesome fun.

    You coming to tt2000?

Would love to do 10K in 10d but cash poor so will have to hope it happens again.

uh... I'm a guy... yes... you have me confused...

and no, not my 10th, did my 2nd GC this year. Yes, TT2000 is on my list next year No, not doing the 10k Super Tour (it is 2 days after the TT, and highly tempting, but too much time away from work)
