Fu*ken hell Tony. Really sorry to hear that. All I can say is that young bodies do a better job of fixing themselves than old ones. They may get damaged easier but repear quicker and better. Hope the young one heals well and the parents do too (emotional scars are the hardest to heal).

I feel from a 1 story roof while playing power-rangers when I was about 6 and cracked my head open, so as long as your kid doesnt start acting like me you have no problems.

Keep your chin up and take care of baby bikie

As one who has had a concussion I can tell you that the body has an amazing capacity to heal itself and as RiB said the younger ones heal better and faster.

Hope things pan out for the wee one.

Thoughts are with you and yours Frosty.

Just be thankful the rule generally runs true that, the younger the kid the better they bounce. Ie The younger the child the less likely they are to have tensed up before impact, add to that that their bones are still soft and therefore more flexible means longterm and serious damage is less like than if a similar event happens later on.

I was one of the unfortunate one's. Had a pretty serious head injury when I was about 8 or 9, due to the fact I had a disorder called (in laymans terms) clumsy syndrome. It simply meant I didn't have the natural impulse to put my hands down during a fall. This resulted in me falling on concrete from a height straight onto my head. Fractured my skull, spent a week in hospital, and according to parents went from an articulate, happy caring kid to a muttering, swearing punk with a bad attitude over night. Had to go to physical therapy to "learn" to put my hand down when falling.

Kids never understand how dangerous everything is till they become adults with kids of their own.

Thanks a million to those that posted and called. Little bugger scared the beejeebers outa me.
In the end other than a sore head the only damage turned out to be a greenstick fracture in his pelvis --and thats so fine that they didd'nt pick it up in the first x ray.
I guess being a parent ya think the worst and hope for the best.

Yup - and us parents out there cringe when we hear about it... especially with the little ones... Good luck to all involved!

Glad to see it's all good now.

But he's got your weird genes so I knew he'd make a full recovery either today or tomorrow........
