Question Do you text and drive?

How many people here text message and drive their vehicle?
I usually do it while waiting at the traffic lights so i'm disappointed i won't even be able to do that on November 1st. Anyway, someone has started a petition to try and remove the texting and driving law in America and our own John Key is mentioned too:

    http://www.petitiononline.com/654f65f6/petition.html

    i signed the petition.

Never used my mobile while driving. I used to irritate some of my colleagues when I didn't reply while driving and called them back when I stopped. I simply said "I don't use the phone when I drive and I don't drink when I drive" as they both have the same result. If you really want to go out and kill someone just man up and buy a gun rather than trying to blame txtng.

I'll sign any petition to ban the use of cellphones by drivers.

I don't drive. I only ride. I hate people that use their phones while driving with a vengence after nearly getting taken out by some prick on the harbour bridge trying to move into my lane while chatting on the phone. After he notices me he swerves back into his own lane nearly overshooting into the barrier. He looks at me and the lunatic is laughing like its a big joke with one hand on the wheel and one hand with a mobile phone up to his ear. What a fuckwit and, if you do it, I think you're a fuckwit too.

i try not to even have it within reach when im riding. that way, i dont get tempted to sneak a peak if a text comes through. either in the tank bag, which i cant open with full gloves, or the top box, which i cant open till i stop.

I text all the time, just like you at the traffic lights because hey its safe at the traffic lights right?. But uhmm.....I find it hard because Im not aware of the lights changing, nor the cars around me. And yes.... I guess by that affecting my awareness could get me in serious trouble not to mention the desire to text while I am moving especially if im having an important conversation. Like one time I nearly wiped this guy on a motorcycle..

I never text while riding, I see these people texting at the traffic lights in their cars totally oblivious to whats going on. They always miss the changing light or dont realise I am infront of them. They usually end up texting while they are driving because that important text turned up. This guy nearly killed me changing lanes...he didnt realise im young enough to be his son.

I used to, but I've grown up abit now. I realize how dangerous it can be. The times i look up and see that im on the right hand lane, or on the left hand kerb. You can drive easier while getting head than while txting
    Thats whats up.

No, I was to busy texting to check out the bikers muscular upper torso, or awesome yellow naked 250cc motorcycle and outstanding ixon jacket with the name Dean. But if I went over to the left to much I would of been steering into his baby blue eyes on the side of the road holding his firm ample hand JUST JOKES! dont ask such questions.

I do occasionally, but only when I'm out in the open space where I can only hurt myself. Doing it in traffic is fucking stupid.

No. 'Cos I'm not an idiot.

Nothing is that important that it can't wait until I stop.

No, never use the cell phone when driving, if i do get a call I will check who it was when i can find a place to pull off the road.

If your on a bike be aware of what people behind you are doing when they pull up in a car behind you, im always got a eye if they have there eyes down, being distracted.

Generally i pull over to the right of cars at lights where i can shoot forward if there is any danger behind, or if its not possible leave a good space between the car infront.

I used to text on my old bike with my old phone, not in the last few years though, anything that takes your full attention from the road should be avoided. Putting my life on the line for a phone call is a bit over the top eh.
