    Secret Weapon - FXR150

Well..... I have just installed my secret weapon on the bucket. 13 tooth front sprocket on the FXR and it's wicked! I found out I have 6 gears! No way! It even revs out in 6th gear! Can't wait to give this the full test at Kaitoke. I am wondering if I should change it to GP shifting too to see what it is like. Hopefully the new sprocket will give me a bit more of a punch than what I had. I almost never get to 5th gear at buckets and I am pretty sure I will be needing 6th gear on the back straight at Kaitoke now so I'm stoked. Watch out guys....

I'm not so sure about race-shift. I just get a funny feeling talking about it.

Is that where you change gears full throttle with no clutch ??? p/t
Can I please see your gearbox after a race of doing that ?

Seriously though, Hamish, change it to reverse (race) pattern 1 up 5 down.
Makes it easier to hook another gear while cranked over, which is useful at Kaitoke.

Yeah the race shift/GP shift is what I will test out this weekend up Blue Mountains haha. See how I like it. I usually just short shift corners if I need to make changes mid corner. I don't have the press button kill switch for shifting gears, I just close the throttle, bang up a gear (no clutch) and snap the gass back on really quickly.

Well I suppose it was never really a secret anyway! I am one of the last to do it for the FXR buckets that I have been racing against (Richard, Andrew) and they said it makes a difference. I have already noticed a difference, I will see how I like it at Kaitoke. Should be turning the muffler into a straight through pipe in the next 2 weeks and cleaning the ugly bike up so it doesn't look like a rusted heap of shit. A new coat of paint should also make the bike and the rider go faster

Paint it red and put some racing stripes on it, thats gotta be worth at least another 10hp.

Why you doing that? What was wrong with your modified muffler under the engine? http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...d.php?t=103179 Were there problems with it? Cheers.
Sometimes you wish it was easier, but if it was, everyone else would do it, then you remember you don't want to be like everybody else!

Nah I just want it to sound like it's bigger than it actually is.

Nah apparently I will get a little bit more power because the stock muffler is very restrictive. I actually might not modify this until after the endurance though to be on the safe side! It's not broken so I won't try to fix it.

Did your mod last week, the pipe that runs from the main chamber into the muffler proper was floating around with a broken weld so I threw that away, I also chopped about two inches off the inside of the exit pipe to make it easier to put together again. It seems a bit less restrictive now, it's definitely louder, will see how it goes in two weeks.
