My first residence in Palmerston North was an everlasting party, there was ALWAYS beer in the fridge and smoke on the table, there was a fuckin sick tumor shaped conglomeration of fat from all the hash browns, that were crisped golden brown to perfection in the toaster.
Deer antlers with optional bra's, a spray painted sign on the house frontage (PLAYERS MANSION), completing the interior decor was a fluorescent light with same words. One time I took a girl back there and on the way up the drive she says "oh my god, THIS place".
Then there was the chairs in the lounge, that post saturday night, could be relied on to contain at least - $8.00 in change, half a dozen of various branded lighters, beers and smokes. The wheel of punishment, the row of 4 (5 can) funnels outside the front door and freezer of mystery in the backyard.
What a dump it was but fuck I miss it..
If you haven't had a flat like that you haven't lived!
We had bikes in the hall, bikes in the bedrooms but always food/beer in the fridge. Sunday roasts were a crackup after 'Sunday School', try basting a chook when you're off your tits. Mondays were a bitch though. (Still are, on occasion.)
We had one flat got turned over by the porkies, they tipped out my pot plants. "What's all this then?" they asked. Innocent faces all round.....
"Right, search the premises" was the command from above. Search commenced......Bobby lifts bag in wardrobe......"The plants are mine" I hollered. Search ceased. I thought a bust for a few dope plants was a better rap than a rap for the explosives in the bag!
Fuckin' funny, they never looked INSIDE the bag!
I got mum to look after my "pot plants" at her place, until they started to go missing...
