I left home when I got married(20),had no need to before, paid board, had freedom of place, mowed lawns, supplied pool table to new room folks added as bar and genral piss up area. And had enough brain power to think it's 5.30pm parents not home, will cook tea for us all.

Had no real issues to leave home, even when brother did his OE it opened his eyes up,and at the time most of our mates boarded at home due to cost and freedom they had at home, but realised they should try flatting eventually.

Awwww man what a total bitch face alright! If I'm hearing you right - you are living in her house and she is saying that you need to clean your room and the garage so you can put your motorcycle in her garage...maybe she could've increased your board instead? I have never ever heard of such an unreasonable parent - I'd fire her if I was you!

Why the fuck does your MUM have any say over what happens in the garage? Tell your old man to harden the fuck up, tell your mum to get back in the kitchen, and take back control of what is well and truly the mans domain.

I'm still at home at 22, in terms of usable space approx half the garage is my stuff but it's kept relatively tidy. It's generally hard to work on your bike in a messy garage but The Stranger seems to make do with the state of his garage 90% of the time!

There's three simple tasks in my life that tend to keep my parents shutup - mow the lawns before they get too long, clean the garage (before dad gets home from working in Australia), keep my room relatively tidy.

    Pretty simple.

Well, my two teenagers have parents that have split up and when they're asked to tidy their respective rooms they just do it. (Maybe there's something in the training?) In fact, when they stay with me/us they hardly make a mess in the first place. They help with meal prep', dishes, laundry and housework in general. It's called 'teamwork' and I get on extremely well with both of them, so much so that I'm taking my 17y/o to see Nickleback.

Ever been to a rock concert with one of your parents?

Thats what its like with my father and myself..

He actually was kind enough to cancel work for 3 days and take me and my girlfriend (at that time) up to Auckland to see Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine and Atreyu..

Mum and i just dont get along very well.. I do stuff for her.. But due to her constant nagging, Its like a competition between us.. Im sure you all would know what that is like?

What is stopping you from moving out? Or moving to live with your dad?
