    Is there a CHICKOI planned?

We all know men are good for nothing (well almost). Are the ladies going to band together and give the parlo's a serve? (Mrs. B wants to know)

Well I do believe all the BIKEOI actions are really CHIKOIs in disguise! There are lots and lots of women involved in organising the protest actions so far.

On the other hand, it might have a bit of an impact on the public (and be another angle for the media) to have the traditional KB Girly Coffee Rides with an awareness-raising angle.

For example women in each region could do a circuit of known bike-friendly places, delivering leaflets and talking to people about the issue, and finish with coffee and cake at a nice cafe.

Some people may be more receptive to chicks delivering the message than some of the scary blokes! And each area could maybe invite one of the local community newspaper reporters to come along as a pillion for at least part of the ride. (Leading to good photos and a favourable story in the local rag.)

I am flat out with the main BIKEOI actions so can't organise this, but would be happy to come along to an Auckland one if someone else organised it.

I'd be happy to see what I can do here in South Auckland, if any ladies are interested pm me. Haven't sorted any details as I've only just read this thread, but think it's a great idea.

Let me get my thinking cap on today and I'll see what could be organised.

Chickies please pm me if you're interested in something like this, or let me know who would be good to get in touch with.

so... what i am hearing is: a feminist-perspective run of the bikeoi... with promo-girl marketing as our catalyst for success?

why not. this is probably one instance where i would be happy to be a promo girl.

do you also include delivering flyers to the non-riding public?

baby oil + no gear + two wheeled vehicles = massively increase the chances of an ACC claim. good one.

LOL I have a funny feeling he wasn't thinking of our health and safety when he made that suggestion!

I think its a good idea. We certainly arent the stereotype biker. People might think twice when they see a whole bunch of chicky bikers in the same place. Im keen for it.

the main event in wellington would be a great place for this to happen.
If the first 100 bikers to arrive at the protest site were all women,'
the media could do nothing but report on it.
we need a sensational eye opener
100 women riding on all sizes of bikes from scooters up to big block HD's
A public statement that would bring on a whole heap of attention from the media
the publics view of who we all are could be changed by that single action.
It would put bikes into the kitchen and out of the pub
To be old and wise, first you must be young and stupid.
