What about a regular meeting point?

Saturday's ACC protest gathering was bloody good; really diverse bunch of bikes and riders. Got me thinking that it'd be good to have a place designated for similar gatherings each Sunday.

Back in the North West of the UK we had Devil's Bridge and Rivington Barn that'd be heaving with bikes every weekend (the bacon sarnie van used to do a roaring trade). Both venues were amongst some great, twisty roads.

Maybe the 'triangle' that houses the Blue Duck? It's well situated and I can't see the owners objecting to the extra business it'd bring.

    Just a thought.

I've seen pics in the UK mags of those hangouts, looks like the turnouts are pretty huge. Akaroa is a common meeting place most summer weekends but the parking is so stretched out it doesn't become a 'gathering'. I for one would be keen, but then I work weekends.

I'm keen. Or, if you just post a time, date and place on here people usually turn up.

Marshlands Produce carpark, 412 Marshlands Rd would make a good meeting point for north bound rides. Close to Prestons Rd BP, plenty of room to line bikes up road side or carpark side. Not as handy as the Peg for some, but it does have a coffee shack! Check it out on google.

Can't say I've been there since the new management. But it sounds like you're describing The Wheatsheaf.
