What, yo'all call yourselves heavy metal fans and no one mentioned RAINBOW. Mind you they only made two albums. Still no one mentioned Deep Purple, the mother of heavy metal, either. Both bands had Ritchie Blackmoore.

I listen to whatever the neighbours are playing. Luckily they like metal/rock. One just got that new AC/DC compilation - good stuff for us more mature folk.

Talking of Black Sabbath, Deep Purple etc, has anyone got an album from mid '70s called "Clapton Beck and Page"?

I used to have more or less every album(round black thin thing with grooves in it that you made go round and round with a needle in the groove to get the music out) from Black Sabbath and Deep Purple but some b'stard needed them more than me.

On another topic sort of, I've been listening to the "Kiwi" radio station - 93.8 in Auckland. Personally I think they're better during the day.

Long haired bogan westie from way back late 80's, early 90's. First concert I ever went to was Metallica when they came here in '89 on the Justice tour. Most my metal record collection (them old black disc things) got destroyed by damp while in storage. The rest I lent out and never bothered getting them back.

Been out of touch with the metal scene for ages, was a competent axe-slinger in my day but haven't touched one in years.......hmmm must get my rig back someday too!! Lent it to a mate a couple years ago as it was just collecting dust.

    Fuck I love metal

I am sick of these punk bands like sum 41 and green day and shit thinking that they are the new hard rock and everything thinking that that is rock.

    Arrgg

METALLICA - The raddest mother fucking band around
absolutely loved them since my brothers taught me what good music was when I was about 8. Own all of their albums, love all of it for different reasons, love the hard stuff of master of puppetts and ride the lightning but really appreciate the mean rock stuff in load, the self titled black album would still have to be the greatest album ever

I guess I am more of a rock/hard rock lover than metal

love my.... megadeth, alice in chains, pearl jam, nirvana, SAVANT!! (way under rated kiwi band) perfect circle, tool etc

Driving home from work with some decent rock on the stereo is a bit like that guy on the BMW ad where it says "arrive smiling" I always arrive smiling and amp'd after listening to real music.

Sort of like a " Best Of Yardbirds lead guitarists all together " album. Sounds good - must hunt it down.

Live gigs..Black Sabbath at Ngaruawahia!, Led Zeppelin, Free, Pink Floyd, Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies, and sundry other "dark" bands.
Off topic - saw Jordan Reyne last Saturday at Galatos - a good tight gig - better than Jakob who were on after!
