Nice work. Love Taupo and will have to get the bucket down there at some stage.
Good work mate getting the results on line looks like you all had a ball .How was the track are there still patches on the corners of the in field and how slippery were the lines onto the start finish straight ?
The find of the century is nearly there. Spent some time after work today proving that I didn't miss my true vocation by not becoming a spray painter. Think I would have been better off taking a mouthful of paint and spiting it at the bike to be honest but everything else is far enough along for it to go together. Spent damn near all weekend at a mates work getting the wheels sorted. Should be as done as I'm going to be before the two hour by the end of the week, wife is officialy "over buckets". Did a quick add up in my head and it owes me all of about 2 grand, the wheels have set me back about twice what the bike did. Did you get some right size disks for yours? If you are going to move the caliper suit the disk let me know. I have 4 disks here the wrong size now, two off the wheels I bought and two off an old GPZ600 wheel I had in the gargen shed, yours for the effort of carrying them away if you want them. Probably more useful is the spare set of bolts for holding the disk to the wheel, also available at the same price if someone has the rest of the bits but is short the fasteners.
Not sure of how slippery it has been in the past-was first time out. I thought it was pretty good. Except the white lines were slippery and just tried to stay of all those beutiful lumpy pieces of seal through nearly every corner of the track. gives you a nice little patch to aim for in between them! hahaha.
Massive amount of fun. Would be great fun out there with just a bucket field!
Does this ever happen?
Keeping the old bike for now so I can always take a trip down memory lane. I haven't been out there that late thankfully. Have enjoyed working on this one for a change, Have been up to my armpits in bike parts on and off for the last 20 years or so, used to enjoy it and then got over it. Probably better with this since the deadlines are so far off that I have the luxury of some time. Usual practice over the past few years has been "Shit, have a race / trail ride this weekend and need to do a top end / wheel bearings / oil and filter change on two bikes" Usualy start on about wednesday night.
Mind you the garage is in such a state at the moment I can't find a damn thing and will probably turn up at Mt Welly to find the one tool I need is buried under three tons of crap on the workbench.
