Do many of you ride with your bloke as pillion?

I've got my full licence, but am still pretty inexperienced. My husband hasn't got a licence, but says he'd be happy to ride as a pillion. I always seem to see couples but it's the girl on the back. We don't have a problem with it, but I'm just wondering if it's very common.

Haven't seen it myself, but I'd see no problem with it.

I think your husband would get the hassles, not you!

Rarely, but have done it. He's not a great pillion as he rides himself. He always comments I'm a crap pillion, too, but he's more experienced with riding with pillions.
Reason I have taken him on the back is we were/are wanting to tour at some stage, and if we're only taking one bike, I'd like to be able to ride sometimes as well (pillioning is boring).
As he's taller & weighs a bit more than me, definitely notice him on the back and when he decides to help out at stops by being "the stand" it drives me nuts.
It's the taking off (and slow speed bits) that you really notice the extra weight, but once riding, not too bad.
If he decided to do a boobie feel while I'm riding along, I'd either hit him when we stopped, drop the bike or do something equally dumb, so he can keep his hands to himself haha

I have ridden my Ninja with my partner on the back no problems. Its amazing the looks you do get when a female is riding and the male is on the back. I must admit thou my partner doesnt really enjoy sitting on the back as he said the rear seat on it is very uncomfortable and because he is alot taller than me his knees are just about up to his ears.

I have never pillioned the man but then I have only ever had a pillion once so far anyway. Riding is a pretty solitary thing for me (large family if you get my drift) anyway even if I had my full I can pretty much guarantee he will not ever go pillion with me. Too much testosterone in the man.
Well someone had to admit it.

I'm not confident enough to try it; I don't like pillioning people at all. I'd worry about dropping the bike at low speeds for one thing. Also, my husband likes to go WAY faster than I do so I'm sure pillioning with me would drive both of us nuts.

That being said, I'm sure there are plenty of gals out there with a bit more confidence who would be happy to do it.

Way to go Lucy, if you are comfortable with it and he is comfortable with it, why the hell not!
