One of the ladies in our Far North Ulysses sent this to me just now, to publish in our monthly newsletter, no doubt inspired by Sundays ride. She is in her early 60's I guess, and rides a Savage 400 Suzuki. Hubby comes too but goes too quick for me to see what he is riding
Fandango
I grab Suzie's hands
throw my leg around her waist
ready to dance
through the Waipoua Forest
I swing my hips and she follows my moves
swerving round the corners
softening the sound of the music
I turn my hand and sweep it up again
screaming down the straights
the crowd is cheering
nikau palms waving, ferns and kauri
letting glittering sunlight through
like in a dazzling disco
my foot stamping one up one down
to the rhythm of sound and speed
hold on Suzie , let's keep dancing
until we reach
Omapere Beach
