Ahh..... ok I'm only posting this because I'm thinking of selling in the next couple of months and I don't want any potental buyers to think I've stuffed something.....
Ok, major stupid moment here, as I said it's been over a year since I've used my bike much due to being over seas, and in the mean time I've managed to forget a couple of rather important things:
1. My bike needs to be centred to read the oil level, not on the side stand
2. My bike only has a .8l oil tank, not the 1.6l I though it had.....
As a result of putting twice as much oil as it needed in every time my power valve opened they filled with oil and made my bike miss like fuck... my "slipping, but doesn't feel like slipping" issue the next day.
Thanks for the advice anyway guys. Using some 15-40 diesel oil (sadly it seems that you simply can't get a 30 or 40 mono weight). Works fine, and what I was already using anyway. Car oil didn't seem to have any negitive effects however.
