Talking Aftermarket mufflers - advice please!

I would love to hear from anyone about their experiences with different brands of aftermarket cans for their bikes. Especially anyone who has bought in from overseas via E-Bay etc.

I have an SK3 1200 Bandit which currently sounds girly, I know about the usual Yoshi's and Scorpion's but interested in any other brands.

AND if anyone knows a mate of a mate who has access to good cans at the RIGHT price I would love to hear about it!!

    Cheers all!
    Jon.

    HAve a look here

    http://www.starcycle-usa.com

Search for 2003 Bandit 1200 - it's a USA site so you'll need to do the conversion (about 73-74 cents to the NZ $). Last I heard shipping was US$90 to NZ. I have only heard good things about them on KB.

Personally I'd avoid D&D - the ones I have seen have very average build quality and were bloody loud (that big Texas sound is their motto).

You can get a Yoshi can for as little as US$280 plus shiping US$370 - thats about NZ$500. Yoshi and Suzuki go hand in hand.
Hindle make a nice can too.

And Leo Vince - $360 US (plus shipping) - nice build and sound - (just quietly Budget Motorcycles have them on display in CHCH if you want a perve).

Also try Fuel exhausts - recommended on KB recently too.

Search for your ride on www.denniskirk.com as well - I have purchased a lot from them over the years and they offer good international service. Just watch shipping charges.

It's fun spending someone elses money.

The wife has a Leo on her GSX650F (gixxif ) and it sounds pretty good. She got a good deal at the dealer though because it was a straight swap with the stock "chrome-pannier". It was stupidly quiet with the baffle in but once we ripped that out, it was in another league. It pops and chackles on roll-off as well, but doesn't drone which is important.

With regards to my bike exhaust, can't help ya since it's a triumph sport can. I would probably consider getting a Leo if I didn't have mine based on what the wifes bike sounds like.

I just got a carbon shorty screaming demon on my 650 vtwin.

It's FUCKING LOUD with the noise limiter pulled out of it. I don't really know if I like it - I'd rather a deeper note, where it is quite crisp and sharp. With the noise limiter in, it has a bark but not really anything to induce any thunder in the chest.

I wonder if the longer pipe had a better tone to it.

I've only had experience with 3 brands of aftermarket pipes, on the YZF1000 I had a Scorpion, not bad, sounded ok but nothing to write home about. On my '06 FZ1 I had an Arrow, shit that was a nice pipe, well made and fark it sounded good! On my ZX14 there are Leo Vince SBK's and people tell me they sound good but they certainly are'nt made as well as the Arrow, not by a long way, to a certain degree you get what you pay for..

It's got one of those in it bro.

With it IN, its crisp and blarty, and with it OUT its just really really LOUD. I just bought another Comet 650 with an aftermarket pipe on it. When I get it running, I'll report back on what its like.

So you have a choice of 'REALLY LOUD' OR ''REALLY REALLY LOUD'

    I see your predicament
