Here's another one. At the turn of the century just when the population was becoming literate and reading newspapers it was considered inappropiate to use the word Carnal. So when someone was charged For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge it was abreviated by using the first letter of the charge. F.U.C.K.

I've also heard that in mediaval times it was a bag for sowing seed and the word has not changed in meaning has it??
