Happy is I, I is happy (warning hitcher bad grammer english and other so fuc...)

    Send this to pointless drivel..

But anyway, heres my story - some may know I havnt had the best of time with my bike, but with 500$+ worth of servicing and lots of work by me I have got her in a very festive mood - but she is still waiting on her front brake disks (and I already have missed the classics at pukie but thats life, shit happens and alot of it to me

Today I installed the de-restrictor after ripping (my) old JPN speedo open and checking out how it worked got that all sorted and took the cheap alternative, slapped a new speedo on (NZ new ZXR400 240kmph as if I would go much faster than 20okmph), I will do a writeup if anyone wants it - then I thought well, I cant ride it so lets make this little bugger ready to be ridden.

Went for a smoko and noticed the alarm I got when I bought the bike and thought - why the hell didnt they give decent instructions - then figured FUG it all and went downloaded the electrical layout for my bike, looked at it got the basis of how an electronics system works in cars and such (I'm a EX- computer/electronics geek) I was confused as hell but through oh well if you cant beat em' smash em.

So ripping my bike to billions of random bits of plastic random parts of motor (I got excited with the strip down), then tryed for freaken ages to figure it out 8,9,10o'clock - still had no fucken idea what was to be done, so I figured well maybe if I try to explain to myself how this all works (like show myself how it all works) I might have a chance, and bloody hell an hour of looking and poking (gotta have a poke ), I just jumped straight into it (dont ask me how I think I just clicked) managed to hook up the ignition alarm, I was chuffed with myself and was going to leave it at that, but then got interested in this 'engine stop' as per the box (immobilisor (sp)) and then with a few snips (and one fuck up) I got that done (I must say that all the color coding makes it bloody hard for the color blind(me) majority!) anyways got that done.

Was playing with it having more fun than a squirrel at a tea-party then through - screw it I'd love to walk out of a shop jump into the local phone booth and get into my superman suit and start the engine at the same time.
This part was remarkably easy but all the same.

Sorry for random shit that everyone else knows/done/does I just feel all proud of myself

hmm 2:30am, bed? Or clean bike... the choice is obvious

    Congrats and good on ya!

I'm at the other end of the scale: perfect colour vision and a total 'technical bypass'. funny how that works.....
Still trying to find some sort of use for the colour vision thing... hmmm.

    Sweet!

So when I get my ZXR, methinks you should come down and de-restrict it as well eh?

Thanks for the replies still all happy and friendly.

Frosty, Its ok (thanks anyway)!- redbaron have got me in some new disks from japan at there expense, I'm sure there was someone around here who wanted a pair though?..

Cryhavoc, no problems - will just do a writeup on howto do it using your bike as the 'test' pilot for the new de-restrictor I have in the books.

Thanks everyone else for the replies, its pretty bloody neat to get on your bike after you start it from remote and take off, got a few looks .

If anyone needs a hand installing alarms or electric system repairs - I will give you a hand, jez I think I have the entire electrical system profile in my bike - and it cant be much different to the bigger/smaller/newer/older bikes

You put a remote start on a bike? Hope you dont ever leave it in gear. Had a friend of mine worked at a WoF type testing centre back in Texas. Anyway he tested this truck and parked it up leaving it in gear like he always does and the guy pushed the remote start on it. Needles to say it decided it wanted to go for a drive into a wall.

Do you know how cool kawasakis are, they wont start in gear without the clutch in and wont go anywhere with the sidestand down.

    Hows your bike?

Same but hopefully be getting money from my mom next week unless she still decides to postpone it. So may be ordering parts. But depending on how things go when I am out at her place next week I might be moving out there and wont need to borrow money from her.
