    The Wacky Races, Episode 19.21(c)

Yes, there is a reason for posting this - first ride in what seems like forever! (but in reality, is only a couple of weeks).
And it's a beautiful day for riding!
And the D'Auckland drivers are still loonies!
And the cop that's lurking in our street this morning must've spent too long munching his donut, because he missed me (by a couple of minutes).

I guess the wackiest bit was my riding - too much excitement, and it's surprising how quickly the communtering skills are dulled by sitting in the car rather than perched on the bike.

However, there were other wackinesses, not including inserting the quietener in the Satantune, in deference to not sullying the reputations of bikers as honest, law-abiding, respectable citizens). But starting with pulling up at the lights. I'm on my own, then in a matter of seconds four other bikes pull up. An almost unprecedented gaggle of bikes!
Of course, the Suzuki rider is first away (the race is on! apparently..), but he must be a fair-weather rider, because I idle away from the lights, no particular hurry, and sail past him within seconds because he's got himself stuck in the worngA lane. (Hey - if you're gonna make a race of it, you need some tactics and cunning. And some other participants!)
All the way down Onewa Road, there's no sign of any of them, until eventually the other VFR rider comes up beside me. I've been doing this ten (10!) years now, and I can almost always get down Onewa road in "rush" hour traffic faster than someone in a hurry. Without even meaning to - it just happens.

The motorway. All three lanes doing 80km/h - or at least, it seems like it. Makes for some complicated lane changing to get past the rolling chicane(ry).

I wonder if #2Son has woken up yet, and wondered where his ride to work's gone?
Here's another wacky thing - he spent much energy rubbishing bikers and their "murdercycles", so I took that as meaning he'd rather take the bus than ride pillion again, and recently gave away all my spare gear to a fellow KBer.
It was then a bit late to tell me he "didn't mind pillioning" with me.

I need some excuses to get out'n'about today (once the mufti cops have stopped loitering outside). It's too wasteful sitting inside, writing crapola on KB when I should be writing other crapola no-one apparently ever reads.

Yeah, as a matter of fact, I am on drugs.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Ahh beggorah and behesus, making me fair long to go and ride now! but I'm stuck with my non-motivated seniors just waiting to eat their lunch...

All the hard work is done, revision is finished ... and the usual hullaballoo from those who didn't give a stuff now all bleating about how they haven't passed their NCEA requirements ... in the words of Alfred E Newman , "What? Me worry?"

Thanks for the write up of communtering madness ... makes me long for the hunuas and the back blocks of Mercer etc al.

I think I'll go to the bank. Maybe I could withdraw some money, then deposit it in another account.
(Actually, I'm not kidding - I'm gonna take some money out of the ASB, and put it in my ANZ TravelCard account).
    ... and that's what I think.

Surely you will have to ride to another branch to do that deposit thingy...

F'kn shoulda, but dint. But I considered it, as the branch I usually go to is much more efficient.
Go to the ASB, get a PIN put on my new Visa, withdraw $2k from the ATM, outta there in less than 3 minutes.
Cross the aisle (or whatever you call those wide pedestrian road thinggoes inside malls) to the ANZ.
    There's no-one waiting.
Two tellers serving some old lady.
    Two counters closed.
    I wait.
    And wait....

    And wait....

    And wait....

Some other people queue behind me...

Many minutes later, another counter opens.

So I make her wait, and say "Next please... Can I help you?"
"Oh - can I stop waiting now?"

And another teller shows up, and another...
(How dumb is that, taking breaks at the same time?)

Transaction takes forever, with much tapping on keyboard keys, taking of details (money was whisked off immediately, before i could think about changing my mind...)

I almost lost the will to live... Wish I'd left my helmet on - then I would've got some action!

But I had a VERY nice ride - only two (2) people tried to run me over, and I even popped a small wheelie (small, because I'm crap at wheelies, and wasn't wearing my pants).

But now I'm back, and back on KB, but off for some Thai (might have some Thai food too!) soonly, before heading back for some more Interdweeb browsing.
    ... and that's what I think.

Well, they have to have someone to talk to at smoko time.

    Customer service? What's that!

Yeah... well, it's partly because I'm getting old and grumbly, and partly because that's twice (2 times) in two (2) days that I've had to wait for more'n 5 minutes, when there were pleanty of servants on the premises. Yesterday at Hell'n'Stupid there were servants milling around everywhere, yet I stood at the front desk for what seemed like forever (5 or 11 minutes?) before someone deigned to serve me. I said to another waiting customer, "I hope you're not in a hurry, and like to wait - I've been standing here at least 5 minutes!" My sarcasm - despite being the lowest form of wit - was too high-brow for the monobrow that (eventually) served me, and I was only sorry that I didn't give in to my original impulse which was to leave my intended purchase on the counter and leave.

I know serving persons are paid 0.625 of intercourse everything, but a job's a job, and should be well done and done well (says the hypocrite typing away writing twaddle for KBers instead of customers....)
But that's OK - at least 2 or 3 people will read this, whereas no-one reads my help documentation, even though it is New! Improved!! Now With Extra Vitamins and Full-COlour Videos!!!
    ... and that's what I think.

    *chortle*...
    The similarities are strange.

Just purchased a new dishwasher from Bog and Bog. "I'll take it now" was met with a feeble "we don't have one at the store - it'll be delivered next week".
"OK" says I, "at no delivery cost, obviously"...
[Spotty faced Oik] "that will incur a $65- delivery fee".
Senior spotty faced Oik (who sees what is about to happen...) "We can take care of that!".

My reply... "Good, because you were about to lose a sale if that had happened!!".

    Yay for customer non-dervice.
