Can you imagine the ruckus if the seabed and foreshore issue went to the courts and Maori won. I understand: there are no other extreme right wing parties in NZ but despite the hype; ACT are not libertarianz; they are fascists trying to dictate the rules so capitalists have the freedom to do what they want.

There are three ethnic minorities in Japan who are regarded as second-class citizens and looked down on. The Ainu people, the Ryukyuan people, and the Burakumin who can be likened to "unclean" castes in India.

Additionally other Asian peoples such as Koreans are regarded as inferior to Japanese. There is a very strong racial divide in Japan but its hard to see from the outside.

In Korea there is still some racism directed against foreigners but its cultural and not obvious to outsiders. The bias is fading with younger Koreans - so I'm told.
