Cellphone police

Quite elaborate, and sneaky.
Looks like they are contractors, using two cameras, mainly at compulsory stop intersections.
Look for a tripod mounted thingie, and a car further back from the intersection with a leach/contractor inside reviewing footage.
(I made sure that the small camera could get a good shot of me.......picking my ear, while giving the camera "the bird".

Actually, I bet the contractor gets paid well for fighting off boredom, and living with the title of "govt tax bitch".
(might drive by eating a hamburger, and tapping a beat on the steering wheel. Thats not illegal yet is it?..........)

If your in the stage of getting pulled over just call *555 and tell them thats who you were calling as thats not illegal.Tell them you were calling to report a cell phone user.

or, you could just stop at Stop signs. Like the road code suggests.

I'm not saying that I do everytime. its just a suggestion.

They are probably doing red-light runners, and bloody good on them!

Around town that method is used... quite effectively.

Nah, saw them sitting on their fat arses at round a bouts and T intersections.
Also saw a Cambridge coppa with a handheld camera on SH1 doing the same last w/end. The GOVT is short of money due to the lost tax take from the recession, hence ACC bullshit, and more new laws getting passed each week.
There used to be a song about tax for rooting. It might just become reality.
(carver hasn't a thing to worry about though. Swallowing doesn't count. Ask Clinton).

WTF for year there has been complaints about tossers using cellphones while driving, then there is a law banning such practice and now the angeny tasked with enforcement of said law is being proactive on motorist behalf getting rid of these distracted drivers and you all complain.

Hell I would say good on them, while at it they can look for those who fail to stop at stops sign's, red light runners etc etc.

If I want to call/book a prostitute, and order a take out pizza, while I mow down a couple of scooter riders, then it's my bussiness, not the Govt's.
