    Bike Servicing and poor service

I wasnt gonna post this but decided what the hell.

I rang the bike shop on Monday to book in for a service. As it is a bit of a hike for me to head down to Auckland I wanted to make sure everything was organised - maybe a girl thing. When I spoke to the service department I said I can do Wednesday thru Friday so let me know what suits you guys best. So Thursday it was.

Well bugger me I pick the only rainy day in 2005 but head on down anyways ...cos I dont mind riding in the rain if its for a good reason. Drop the bike off and get a loaner for the day to head back up home for work. Everything is going well so far thanks to forward planning.

Head off from work early cos I know what a shitter Whangaparaoa Rd is at night and wanted to avoid all the nutty cage drivers and got to shop at 4.30. Oh theres a problem I was told. Oh Shite here we go again me thinks. I dropped bike at 8.30am and it wasnt serviced when I returned at 4.30pm despite me asking what time I should be there to pick it up. Service guys ask "Are you in a hurry?" can you come back later or tomorrow.....say what!

I left there at 5.30pm. Was a tad peed off - but being me I didnt complain. I should have!!!!!! What has happened to service???? Next time I may trek further South and hope they have some.

just to put a positive spin back on this sort of thing, my 636 went in for it's 12,000k service today (after me walking in on Tuesday asking when they could squeeze it in before the weekend) at the Kawa shop on Barrys Point.. Not only did he service the bits that didn't need it, they didn't charge a heap for it, and they want me back in a weeks' time to follow something up - fer free! Nice bunch of guys. last time, they spit 'n' buffed me bike too!!

But, I hear ya MD, just sux that you remember the bad and not the good, so things like this doesn't help. If they knew what you had arranged, then without a good reason, or a call this afternoon to let you know, they should have had the bike ready on time.. May be next time, ay...?
