Need a bit of KiwiBiker help - Johnsonville

    Hello all,

been using this forum for about 6 months or so and in that time I have seen some amazing things happen here. Young Death, Helensville lowlife brought to justice, Renegade Master recovering that stolen bike are to name but a few.

Now I would like to ask for a little bit of help myself.

Bit of background, Johnsonville is a pretty nice place to live. Close to Welly city and easy going and nice people live here on the whole. People still say hello when I pass them in the street walking the dogs etc.

But, on the labour weekend Monday evening some little scrote decided to go around Johnsonville stabbing car tyres. Unfortunately my car (which was parked on the street) was one of them but got off lightly having only one rear tyre stabbed. Other cars had three to four wheels stabbed - how much of a prick have you got be to do that.

I followed all the due course and reported to the police etc but nothing has turned up. Which is suprising seeing that around 20 cars were done in Johnsonville that night (somewhere around midnight at a guess). All the police could say is that a group of youths (3 I think) had vandalized the primary school and had been reported by another group of kids. They also reported that the vandalizing group had been seen with a knife.

So I could live with that and let the police do their lines of enquiry etc. I didn't feel victimized as so many cars were targeted and put it down to bad luck. Even though just one tyre costs around $350.

But, got home tonight on the bike and saw that I had a flat on my car again. Front drivers done this time. I can only predict that it happened last night (I heard something at around 12 but thought nothing more of it).

Well as you can expect I am now mightily pissed off. Seems like my car was the only one to be done on this occasion (had a quick drive around the neighbourhood and couldn't see any others. This time I do feel victimised and am not prepared to sit back and take it on the chin. I have no beef with anyone round here and get on well with everyone I know.

My missus is a wee bit concerned what will happen if I do catch them ( I can loose my temper at times - not something I am proud of). Anyway, most of the time I am pretty mild mannered and with the help of a valium and a wee bit of wine I am all chilled again.

So, after that ridiculously long intro, Kiwibikers of Johnsonville I need your help. If you could ask around to find out who did the first lot of attacks then I would love to go to the police with a name or two. If you have teenage sons or daughters please ask them. Just tell them that otherwise this thing is seriously going to get out control - someone is carrying a knife around Johnsonville and showing off with it - it is only a matter of time before they stick it into a person rather than a car tyre.

The incident occured around the ohariu/ ironside roads (near the school) but I also heard that it was as far away as phillips street.

If you get any information then please PM me.

Thanks in advance everyone, you really are a good group of people.

    Cheers

I look after a 14 year old who goes to Onslow College and knows a lot of local kids, so I'll ask her if she's heard any kids at school talking about slashing tyres etc, however she's a very good girl and I like to think she wouldn't have anything to do with any little shitheads who would do that, but worth a try eh. In the meantime, any chance you can park your car up your driveway, on your lawn, under a streetlight or maybe up a neighbours driveway or somewhere off the street?

Ta Trudes, and thanks for the advice. Yup, parking the car up the driveway now but it is a single space at the top and we have two cars (hence why one parked on the road to not have to move one all the time. Pisses me off no end that I have to take steps though - this crap is just annoying.

My missus just checked the Independent Herald and there is a small article in there about it. At least a dozen reports of tyres slashed on October 26th. In Monowai Road, Clifford Road, Morgan Street and Phillips Street. The bastard(s) must live somewhere close as he seemed to do a circuit.
The most interesting part of the article though was the vandalism at Johnsonville school, downpipes broke etc, is that someone carved the initial "T" into a table.

Any clues as to who "T" is would be greatly appreciated as I have the small matter of a $900+ bill to discuss with him (or his parents).

So I'd heard. Tassels optional, if the rumours are to be believed...

Hey Trudes did ya stab me tyres - now why would you do that?

Anyway, I don't think these scrotes have the ability to get past the first letter of their given name(s) Terrence? Terry? Tony? dame Tiki? Tosser?. Find me a name that is all I want - I'll take the rest from there (police or no).

I heard a rumour that tyre insurance from Tony's Tyres actually covers people slashing your tyres? You should check it out. We talked them down to $5 a tyre once.

Good point about nipping it in the bud now. When these little bastards damage property, but have a penchant for knives, that is a worry. When they don't get their jollies anymore from tyres, it could well be someone and not something, next.

I have one that goes to Newlands College and another that goes to Newlands Intermediate. I'll ask them and see if they've heard anything.

I live on the other side of the motorway and had someone coin / key the old Accord a few years ago (I still have the Accord and it's "racing stripe"). Less damage than comprising an expensive tyre but it pissed me off nonetheless.

Putting 2 and 2 together, it seems Monday nights are the night for trouble.. and before 9pm too. Seems odd someone would risk doing this in broad daylight. I suspect it is a younger person and he would need to be home before dark to not raise suspicion from his folks.

A stakeout might be in order with some bait next Monday.
