Cool Free outdoor bbq coromandel loop area?

Hey I'm planning a ride around the coro soon but wanna detour from the usual Coroglen pub and head to some beach/park for a swim and bbq.

Does anybody know of any free-to-use bbqs along the coro loop route? Preferably around the Whitianga side of things but not too fussed.

An online search leads to Onemana perhaps having some kinda bbq area of sorts but I'm short on details.

    Any info would be great!

The only time Ive every seen free to use BBQ has been in auzzie...all the ones in NZ seem to be filthy coin operated ones.

Dunno, I've been to parks where ya just press a button and they fire up for free.

Not fussed if there's some small change cost.

Cheers for the info! Good to know of a few options. I wonder if there are any over the Whitianga side of things though as it'd suit timing a little better

A wiki entry with a list of all this stuff in it would be useful. Wheres pdath when we need him..
