    For the shop.
2 or 3 cylinder piston compressor, belt drive 10 to 13CFM. For tyres you don't need much of a reservoir but for much else, (including painting) the bigger the better.

    For the van.
Size E bottle of dry nitrogen with a welding regulator.

There's a vast quantity of shite out there, to the point where there's hardly a good quality rig to be found, don't expect to buy anything worth owning for a couple of hundred.
Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon

Would be used mainly for inflating M/c tyres onto rims. So thinking good air flow through the 10 meters of hose might be important??
Want it small to carry in the van, but big enough to bead tyres to the rim.
Are there any DC volt systems that could run off a 12v battery?
    Don't want cheap and unreliable.
May be used for spray painting occasionally.

Anyone want to sell me something?

    Racey.
Check my listing on Trade Me 599887284. Ideal for your job. 12v may not last in a commercial situation.

I have an old cast iron 2HP single phase belt drive compressor that is probably 50 years old. It belonged to my dad, he used it in a van when he had a hose doctor business.

I have changed the oil in it once and fitted a new belt about 10 years ago. it won't drive a big spray gun but it will drive my small cup and touch up guns.
