    Hey Burt,
Good of you to help, BUT splashing your phone number over the World Wide Web might not be a good idea.

Private messages can be used for this however....

    Carry on.

hi guys, i found the points, they do not open or close when i roll the bike foward and back, so they must be replaced. is there a special tool/technique to get the cover off (bit that turns when you kick)?

You need a flywheel puller. Apparently using a gear puller can break the flywheel. Wish I had one to lend you, as I need one myself.

    Just found this on Youtube

This guy seems to do it without a flywheel puller, just uses a rubber mallet.
Looks a bit dodgy, but I'll give it a go, won't be hitting it too hard though

    Whacking isn't good

I've asked around and everyone I've talked says they'd never hit the flywheel on their bike with anything, but they've seen others do it.

I've managed to track down somewhere which sells flywheel pullers at a reasonable price (Scooterworld in Newton Road - $25), but just need to work out what size I need (may involve taking my motor in there).

You're welcome to borrow it when I get it it.
