I managed to get bits of some cage's windscreen in my eyeball a ways back. A nice lady pulled out onto a main road without looking and a big nasty motorbike embedded itself in her front wing. She was already awaiting a court date for a charge of Driving Without Due Care, as it happened.

Fortunately, the eyeball is the only bit of live tissue visible on the outside of a human body, and so heals quickly. Skin's dead stuff, doncha know...

Obviously it needs to be taken care of properly, & PDQ - cos while it'll heal quick, if it gets infected it could bugger your life up big-time.

Think about getting it looked out. I had a 7mm scratch to my cornea from a flailing childs fingernail - was told if it gets infected OR there are teeny tiny bits of that crap in your eye it can mean big trouble.

I saw my optomotrist and got some antirobotic drops - cleared it up within a day to where I could stand to come out from under the bed covers into the light.
    Luxury!
I splashed molten solder on my cornea.

I had a fingernail damage over 70% of my cornea too. But mine happened right after I had LASIK so I was absolutely shitting myself
