    Police

Ok, I've seen so many threads started and carried on about how hard done by people were with cops. I've had enough with all the bad stuff, so how about we hear about the good experiences we have had. I know there are some as I have a few and I know that human emotion is always to focus on the bad which seems true in most cases but "Lets look at the good" (Thanks Dr Phil)

1: I was cruising along one day after school minding my own buisness when out the corner of my eye I spotted a kid on his bike just ride into me and take him and myself off. Now 3 cars behind me was a police car and he saw it all. But the lady behind me decided to run upto me and scream and yell at me for swerving at the bicycle (I never did) and then try to do a runner (I was lying on the ground, bike unride-able). The cop came up, told the lady to "Fuck off" and while his partner helped the kid, he made sure I was OK and then told me he saw it all and if needs be he can take me home. I was ever grateful to the guy and still wave to him when I see him.

2: I was speeding along at well over the speed limit racing to the hospital as my dad had a heartattack and I really wanted to see him. I pretty soon saw lights in my mirrors and figured pulling over and stopping would be better than running and when the cop came up to me I explained the situation (While all this was happening another cop-car turned up) and before I know it, they gave me a police escort (lights and all) to the hospital with a promise of a very hefty fine if I was lying.

3: The numerous time I have been given off fines because the police didnt want the paper work.

I have plenty of time for the police and often I focuse on the bad stuff only to remind myself that, they are not that bad!

Just write about your good experiences here guys, not why you think the cops are out to get you

years ago before they had the motorway built all the way up to orewa i was heading from orewa to albany, i passed about 8 cars on double yellows, got to the passing lane and some chick pulled out in front of me, so i passed her on the inside, about 3 minutes later i got pulled up on the top of albany hill by the armed offenders as they were in an unmarked car that i had passed, got clocked at 163, passing on double yellows, following to close, passing on inside, obstructing number plate, and when i handed over my learners (and i wasnt displaying an L plate either) he asked if i knew what i was in for being clocked at more than double the learners speed limit, i was crapping myself! he went and checked all my details and came back and said "slow yourself down mate and have a good christmas" and that was it!! thats about the only good experience i have ever had with them.

On Tuesday night, riding my CG125RRSPS up the Ngauranga Gorge at 80kph (the speed limit), took the Newlands off ramp.

Standing on the back pegs, hoisting the front over the joins in the overbridge, usual sort of stuff. So I settle down after a couple of good launches and slow to 60 at the 50 signs. Look in my mirror, "Fuck, where did that car caome from?" Continue up the road a couple of hundred meeters and on come the discos.

    "Ahh fuck!"

Jump off the bike, helmet off, humilty face on.

Cop sez "What the fuck were you trying to do?"

"Umm yeah, just being an idiot really, no reason"

Licence check, quick look at the bike.

"Knock it off and stop being a dick"

Jumps in his car and buggers off!

    Arrow Well.

They come up extremely quickly at work when a hazordous situation unfolds and provide invaluable back up when we get people high on P etc. On ya the Police!
Those who insist on perfect safety, don't have the balls to live in the real world.

    Police...Long post sorry

Here in Japan the police do ...uummm ..nothing ,,every year at the same they have a check on a blind corner just down the road from here ,,,but I swear its the same time every year...
Anyway you see them on the motorways and there are cameras ...but we have insurance , so if we end up through our own stupidity costing a lot of money the insurance pays ( except fines) so there is no incentive to well eerrr do anything really ..
No speeding tickets , Ive had 1 in 5 years ,,, no err anything really ,,, 1 important thing to recognise is that the people tend to regulate themselves ...they tend to drive slowly here ( you can sit at the lights and the guy in front will be watching a dvd or tv ,,in the car ...( our car in the dashboard has dvd and cd and tv all built in to the dash ,,,) and the lights will change and maybe someone will beep the horn but usually no one says anything .. try that in NZ )
Yes they speed on the motorway and yes there are crashes , but they are cleaned up and the persons family ...assuming driver is dead ...pays the entire ( i think ) cost no you cant plead bankruptcy ,,you keep paying ,,,,
Dont jump in front of a train.... whoooooo is that expensive ,,,,especially the main yamanote line ,,u dont want to jump in front of that one ,,as u pay per min the train in stopped AND the knock on effects ,,,,whoooo that would hurt
    So
I personally feel that most people like the police except when they become to officious , In NZ my local cop knew I either had wof or rego ,,but most times not both ,,,he must have warned me a million times ,,, I still intend to get them ,,,one day ...But look out if u were drinking and driving whoo boy did the book come down hard ....
He also knew which people in the village smoked .... umm ,,different stuff ...he made his precence felt,,,, and as a result of this tendency to show discrection .... when he needed help he only had to ask and everyone was there to help him ,,in which we did on many occasions ..

There was another in london an older man walking the beat , while he would sneak up on you all the time if he did catch you most of time he took your details , gave you a chance and if he saw you again and you hadnt cleaned you act up whoo did the book get thrown ,,,,you repected him he WALKED the beat in Moorfields London , we called him the grey ghost as he had grey hair and appeared without warning ,,,,( I was dispatch riding )

So It seems that most people dont mind except when they get a ticket for acting responsibly but are travellling 10 kmph over the limit on a bike that is designed to operate at ( well what the power band on a cbr is about 5000 rpm in top thats about 120 or more with high performance brakes ,,,,)

That is revenue grabbing not educating ,,,and someone has to pay for a free health system ,,,and the goverment needs to look financially responsible in order to attact investment ,,,,so I supose that leaves you and me really !!!

What wrong with just calling it Tax ...or user pays User pays speeding ,,there u go ,,,

My 2 cents worth. The police are the good guys, without them you and me are facing only the bad guys by ourselves. If you get a speeding ticket just get over it, no reason to be anti police.

No, he said "The love of my life is missing" or "The lady of my life is missing"

    or something like that...
