Are you sure you didn't mean $1,900

if it's worth more than a new bike - how about telling us why?
there wouldn't be too many people willing to part with $19000 for a 30 year old bike with 65,000k on it

i recall about 5 years ago ash king honda had one that was virtually unused for around $30000,dont know whether they sold it or not or even if its still in nz,and i sold my 1987 rg500 5 years ago for $13500 on trade me so some things that are old are worth more than new models

I think the kind of person who'd be looking at that type of bike would be well aware of the history of these bikes

There might be more than you think, it's a matter of having the money to hand at the same time the bike comes up

Valuable and historically significant or not, I'm not sure I'd even talk to someone with this attitude. Just my 2c worth.

Hey, Robert Holden did the same to mine.

    It just adds value.

You presume I'm not aware of it's history - ok I was being a bit cheeky saying $1900, but honestly $19,000??? I still can't see that much worth of special

I had a ride on one in Aussy in about 1987, took it for a few laps of Philip Island. A friend who was into racing had purchased it off Wayne Gardener.

honestly; it has prestige and all, but anything from about 2000 onward is a much better bike, I suspect even my old 98 Bandit 1200S with less HP would be a quicker better bike to ride.

But I guess if you like the rarity and history of the bike you'd pay over the top for it - but $19,000? Wouldn't think any one would pay that much - especially when you think about the choice of bikes you could buy with $19,000

A 1988 FZR Thousand would give it a hiding, but that aint the point is it. I'm of the firm oppion these bikes are worth whatever peopel are prepared to pay for them.

I don't really think thats the point of bikes like that but then you're talking to someone who spent 15k on a 25 year old bike
