doesn't work when he's paying $750 for what is functionally (and aesthetically) equivalent to every other 600 supersport on the $500 rego

Almost makes as much fiscal sense as this person, who spent the same amount of money on a bike he's evidently over the honeymoon stage with now.

hey I wasn't the one paying the red-baron markup - and that just makes us both idiots

btw if you read the quote I was addressing this "best bang for buck" idea

IIRC, you said the money from your dad was a loan. So technically you were the one.

And I reckoned the chances of this 200% cc-based levy increase is pretty bloody low for going through. So I just used it as a bargaining chip to knock the price back even more. Win/win.

And bang-for-buck, the 636 has the best engine and is the best over-all road bike of the 600 supersport range. And aesthetics? Surely you're not one of those deluded fools that prefers those hideous R6's and CBRs?

No other 600 looks or feels remotely as nice as the R6. But your not going to find one for that price so good bang for buck the 636's are. Just like the Gixxers good and cheap. Unfortunately 36 cc's too big, so welcome to the club!
