Sometimes they do get up to 1000-1500 dollars for a complete rebuild (and they need rebuilds regularly.....every 10k?)
But, if you ask for how much it cost to rebuild an R1 or a blade, you'll be surprised
The price will not be funny at all.

The joy of a two stroke is that they have no oil in the crankcase, If you've got oil in the water then the waterpump shaft seals are probably leaking. The waterpump is driven off the gearbox see, and when the seals leak you can get water in the gearbox or gearbox oil in the water. When the headgaskets leak, they only loose a bit of water. You don't need to strip much at all to replace the waterpump seals, although the shaft may be corroded and need replacing.
A good reason why you need heaps of antifreeze in you bike.
    Luv it!

Well the head gaskets are being replaced now (it looks like they were old ones that had been glued on) and the actuator for one of my power valves had snapped.. so I think that's why I got the big loss of power.

Might have it back before the weekend

    yay
