    The Herald says:

The shower will be at its heaviest from 9.34am to 9.44am, but meteors will be visible from about 3am.

I hope it clears up tomorrow. My 2 eldest boys are keen amateur astronomers, but the weather has been crap for the Leonids for their entire lives.

it has stretched its way down here too
Any decent astronomical events we try to get to see down here, cloud always puts a damper on things.
Do you reckon there will be a showing early tomorrow morning?

    Weather shit down in Chch.

Meant to be the best one this century. 100 an hour.

If you are not too sure where to look down load Stelarium and find the constilation of Leo. If memory serves me correctly Leo will down somewhere near the horizon so we will not get the best view.

    http://www.stellarium.org/

Leonids (LEO) ZHR=100.0 Velocity=71.6km/s (very rapid)
    Radiant: RA=10.3h/154° Dec=21.6° (J2000) (in constellation Leo/Leo)
    Solar longitude=235.3° (J2000)
