    36 hours door to door

    1447km 17.4km/l average

Left home at 11.30am Monday Morning headed to Papakura auto barn to meet up with qchk & littleman for our 12.30 depature. Good run down to palmy with little use of highway 1.
We went to pub for dinner and awaited the arrival of one qkkid then back to the motal for some shut eye eventuality.

    Tuesday 17/11/09
Awake nice and early awaiting our coffee in bed greg we are still waiting so off to breakfast we then headed to levin for 10am and cruised down to the police college and on to the cake tin.

Where i must say was a good turn out for a work day. Congratulations ixion and stoney on a job well done.

There where a lot of speeches and a lot of information from the professor dude and it was a pity his speech didn't end up on tv because he told some interesting facts.

Left the cake tin car park at 2.30pm went into livin for lunch made a $120 donation in Foxton and pushed hard to make up time from that. We ran into rain around national park throu to Te Kawhiti not rain really the sort that was a 1 minute in front of you was a slippery bit of road throu there in the wet and was good to be out of it. Onto the Auckland motorway to find no less than 3 motorway closers.
Pulled into home at 11.30pm with very sore asses & shoulders.

Left Napier some time around 5 pm Monday...cos I'm a soft old thing and can't do too many k's in one day....and headed for Palmy in really strong winds, where dinner awaited us!
Left Palmy about 7.45 Tuesday, rode to Levin, picked up the slower riders and the L platers and headed off to Papakowhai on TEC duities...eventually found our waay to the stadium, after riding endless k's in first gear at snails pace!
Listened to some fantastic speeches, saw some mates, heard some noise, partied on the grounds, then headed to Mana for a quick drink...man, ws I thirsty, then headed off home with a stop in Woodville for gas and a burger!
Up HW 50, home about 7 pm.
Back to work on Wednesday, with a sore arse, very tired still, and sore hands....
    Thanks for asking!

Left pukekohe late morning monday..........was going to meet up at papakura with you guys and meet some more people but in the end couldn't bring myself to go even that short distance northwards.......

anyway, had a good trip down........straight through to wainuiomata, met some travelling companions partway and had a good ride pirongia, taumaranui, national park etc.
stopped in levin for a while to uncramp the body and collect a parking ticket.

returned straight after on tuesday.........left about 2ish maybe, returned the same way. was wet from waiouru onwards........well wet..........dry..........wet ...............dry.............wet. Just enough to slippery up the road and hard to see the wet patches through twilight time. Home at about 9.
    cheers

Left mid town at 3pm Monday and went via Matamata and right turn at Tok onto 32, and thru to Turangi for gas and a burger. Over the desert rd on to SH 1 and over night at Marton. I'd not been there before and its much bigger than I thought it would be.

Gassed up in Marton and through to Sanson for meet up. Off to Papakowhai Rd in convoy. We got broken up a few times when the procession stopped at lights in levin etc.

HUGE crowd at Papakowhai and off to the cake tin. Stunner!!!!

Ambled over to the behive and listneed to ta few speeches. Wandered back to my bike and left Welly at about 2:30. Up the main drag to Wanganui and up to Raetahi was a wicked ride.

After that the road was mostly damp / wet right through to home at 10pm.

24km/litre for the trip and no speeding tax.
