    Idling rough

    Hiya, sorry for another topic.

Just finished trying to figure out what was going on with the bike - had it in bits trying to find a problem.

The problem is when I sit at the lights after a while the RPM drop and it sounds like it wants to die, so I have to hold the throttle open and when I take off its all bogged down as in its running super rich i.e like the choke has being opened!

Now I checked the carbs were ballanced, I checked the airbox, airfilter, fuel filter, fuel tank, and choke cable slack.

HDTboy suggested it was my larger jets, but I havent noticed it until a few weeks ago.

I'm lost for ideas, I dont think it needs a rejet as it doesnt happen all the time only sometimes when I sit at the lights for an extended time..

    Any ideas would be great.

My bike was running like that when it got hot, leaned the bike out now it runs brilliant, just a pain to start when it's cold but I prefere it this way to spluttering/gutless at the lights.
Life is difficult because it is non-linear.

Mate it sounds like you are having problem after problem. And I sympathise with you cos my bikes an equal bitch....

Didn't the one eyed monster or whoever the salesman was at RB's give you some sort of warranty??

I'd look at either giving the bike back or swapping it for another CBR or something........

Yea the bikes being a problem since I got it so with abit of money here and there its running real well, this is the last problem on the list so I guess thats what happens :/

Should have bought a car lol.

But Its tuned to perfection the engine internals are like new, has bigger jets, bigger carbs, new CDI and heaps of other crap, and now it finally goes over 200kmph, so I'm keeping her!

The warrenty doesnt allow for replacements anyway so I guess I will have to live with it, and whats this talk about CBRR's? (AS IF )

Next mod is new front end springs and rear suspension, Looking at a ZX6R shock that may fit.

Mine does 200 naked and standard engine
and it fires up, and runs nicely. What more could you ask for from a 250?

I suppose i wouldn't say no to heated handgrips, and a bourbon vender, but that's just being greedy

200 was a realistic guess, It would be capable of over that.

I cant wait to get these front disks on so I cant make you feel like your riding a scooter.
