Ride around Lake Taupo - 21st November 2009

Hello to all KB bikers.

A number of us have discussed a ride around Lake Taupo. And as I (silly me) put my hand up, here goes.

At this stage, I think we'll be looking to meet by the pub on the corner (used to be the Red Barrell - me thinks) around 12ish. This should allow plenty of time for riders to come from every direction.

Have some lunch,

and away we go.

Of course, I think it would be obvious to say "weather permitting" esp as we've just had snow here during the week

- Hopefully November will be a wonderful weekend and not too cold or icy, but sunny,

dry roads and alot of fun

So come along and join us - We in HB are keen to do this ride.

Will that leave us enough time? The last time we rode around the lake we left early, Taupo for Breakfast, Turangi for lunch (mind you that was a waste of time, place just about all closed), stop back at Taupo for an icecream on the lakefront and then home by about 5pm so was a full day.
Do you remember that ride Tony?????

You are aware that that is the day the Wattyl Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge is on.

Taupo is going to be pretty busy to say the least, and the shortest route around the lake is going to be full of cyclists (such as myself and kiwifruit) pedaling our asses off to try and get around all 160km of the lake.

Yes very keen... I see that date seems to be very very busy... Crazyhorse was kind enough to throw that date open at a friendly request as I do shift work and for the few that I work with who ride as well... Thank you

Can suggest the 21st Nov? or 5th of Dec? both Saturdays.
