Blah SMC ride Monday 23 November

EDIT: Ride moved due to shit weather. Weather looks good for tomorrow MONDAY 23 NOVEMBER
, so far there are a few of us keen to do the coro then with a nice early start, will update final details here.

Meet from 8am at Autobahn to leave at 8:30 to do the route as planned, should be back into Auckland around 2pm I'd think with no stuffing round. Meant to be sunshine!!! See y'all there!!!

Exams finish next week. The weather's getting better and better. Time to ride!

Who: Anybody in the SMC crew, or friends of... If you have to ask then you're not included. This route is technical and is a long day's riding, absolute newbies will not be welcome, L-plate riders are welcome if you have a lot of open road experience (we should know you, so just ask what we think). Those with new bikes should think twice about how comfortable they are on their baby before making their decision.

Any size bike is welcome, it is not a race and I will not venture from signposted limits. Nobody will be left behind.

Egos/Bullshit not welcome. If you ride like a twat we will tell you to fuck off.

Where: Coromandel loop! Direction yet to be decided. This ride is about 400km all up and will take most of the day including our lunch break.

You townies can meet at Uni at your own time.

Here is the map - http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?f=d&so...3,1.799011&z=9

We can aim for Coroglen pub for lunch unless anybody else has a good idea, this is about halfway around so will be a good place to have a good rest, drink and bite to eat.

When: Sunday the 22nd of November.

Meet at Autobahn from 9:30am to LEAVE at 10:00am

Don't plan anything else during the day.

I'll point everybody to the group ride guide - http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...d.php?t=107628

I expect everybody to be comfortable with the guidelines provided here as a general way of thinking. Although numbers should stay relatively low and everybody should recognise faces so we aren't riding with complete strangers. RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE.

Organising leaders/TECs depends entirely on numbers, so please post up in this thread if you intend on coming AND put your name down in the poll so I can plan ahead.

BBQ/Beach to be done later in summer after I (or anybody else) have scoped things out.

I fully can't wait for this ride as the start of summer holidays!!!

Long-range forecast not looking too hot for Sunday, too early to make the call yet but any takers for Saturday if Sunday looks like rain?
