Brake wear?

Well, brake PAD wear really...

Just wondering how often people replace brake pads. I daresay there might not be any particular interval since everyone prolly uses their brakes differently and no doubt different machines have different braking characteristics etc etc etc.

But for the sake of the record, how often do YOU replace pads? I've put 30,000k on the SV and was told at last service, after asking the question specifically, that the pads were "50% worn"...which seemed at the time to be pretty slow wear...is it?

Brake pad material has come a long way in recent years, when I purchased my 92 cbr900 (new), 5000K was the norm for replacement, but with a recent set of pads ive clocked up 10000k at 50% worn.
