    GPS Bluetooth?

    Hi Guys
Just thinking of purchasing a GPS for the bike and was considering the bluetooth option.Would this be an advantage with ear piece on a bike or do we all look at the screen for directions. What about glare etc??.I know that Garmin do a specific bike GPS(zumo) at a price, but is it worth it.

I navigated around parts of europe using a Zumo visually only and that worked fine for me.....

My Detector is used visually only and again it works fine for me.

But then others I know have a strong preference for audio and only occasionally look at the screen....which may be safer.

I think it comes down to personal preferences or possibly what your senses are more atune to.

I've done quite a lot of looking into this and found that most GPS's equipped with bluetooth will NOT connect to my Blueant Interphone...which is a pain in the arse...since I already have the Interphone. Coises! Foiled again!

Zumo 550 paired up with a Nolan Ncom N102 helmet fitted with the basic kit and Bluetooth kit. Mono sound but works Primo. Can also connect your phone and have MP3 music, GPS directions and Handsfree phone calls both incomming and outgoing. You wont be dissapointed.

The Zumo 660 is now stereo sound through A2DP bluetooth and Nolan has got it's new N-103 helmet out now too..

Stick it in ya letter to Santa.... worked for me

Have zumo 550 and interphone which works great except if your connected to another interphone (Pillion/Bike to Bike) as there is only one channel on the interphone (not sure about other BT headset.)

Buy the Zumo 550 or 660 you won't regret it.

Have a Nolan lid but use an ear piece rather than the full Nolan setup

I haven't had light problems but I do worry about driving up the arse of a truck or car that stopped unexpectedly. I definitely want a headset but Google results suggest that the current products are "interesting" but that better items may be just around the corner.

Hope I don't ride into the back of truck meantime

No issues with sunlight on the Zumo 550.... you can fit it with a sunhood (optional extra) too if you really want....

Yeah, had a few times where I couldn't see the screen, normally bright light at certain angles. Bike is naked, so the zumo is completely exposed, which probably doesn't help.

Audio is handy when you're in a busy situation and don't really want to take your eyes off the road.
