Photos from 27 & 28 Dec 2009 Taupo Road Race Spectacular

Day 1, including the BADD 3-hour Endurance Race:

    Day 2:

    Enjoy

Please note that while I was racing (if you could call my slow speed racing that is!) and trying to sort out problems with my bike (which Henk fixed by swapping my carb for his spare - thanks Henk), I was not able to take photos. So I did not cover all the races. My brother's attempts with my camera were a total disaster!!!

This TRRS was my first attempt at racing in over 25 years and my brother's first attempt at being a sports photographer for the bucket races, ever! That's why I have few shots of the buckets - I was riding number 15.

Achievement is not always success while reputed failure often is. It is honest endeavor, persistent effort to do the best possible under any and all circumstances.

    Exceptional photos again Damien.
It's a shame Henk ruined the chance for heaps of your usual classic bucket shots !!!

Well, Henk made it possible for me to have my first race in over 25 years! My carb was stuffed, my practice wasted and I did not have a solution. By the end of the day, with Henk's help and his spare carb, I was finishing 17th and 18th in the all-in buckets! It was a fantastic day. I didn't even crash!

I just need to teach my bro' how to use a camera (I did before-hand but he chose to ignore all my instructions!). Next time . I want photos too!

You were looking good in the difficult wet conditions on the new 125 GP bike. Hope you will still ride the FXR150 at Mt Wellington - always fast and exciting to watch as shown in the photo below.

Thanks. A pity not more of the buckets! You were going hard out there. The new slicks are the biz!
