    Dump truck spilling fine gravel

I was driving along in the car and started noticing a lot of that fine grade gravel on the road, the type that's really hard to see and as slippery as Bin Larden. I caught up to the dump truck that was spilling it all over the center of the road, so I followed it to get some details.

The driver ended up approaching me as I was parked up in the car taking down details. He was very concerned to hear how much gravel was leaking.

What's the deal with contractors and the shit that comes of the back of there trucks?

He's only very concerned because someone is writing down his details. I bet he wasn't so very concerned 15 mins ago when he first discovered it.

Do him like a dinner, bro. There is no "deal with contractors". They are just people who think they can get away with shit, until just after they get busted doing it. So bust him doing it.

Mandatory 2 grand, up to 20 grand for the driver (let alone the company) and if they discover his tailgate is defective, it WILL be the 20 grand mark!

Nark him in man thats 200 motorcyclists he could have taken out in a single day with his gravel spills (as an ex truckie I have no sympathy for the prick)
    Just ride.

How does one go about narking in a truck driver spilling shit on the road? Is that what the *555 number is for?

It's the possibility! If everyone "lets it go" then no-one would ever get prosecuted, and someone WILL get killed.

Its the "i'm too good to nark" attitude that causes so much shit here anyway, no consequences for anyones actions cos they know no-ones gonna tell on them.

when driving a flat deck, i used to check my load every 2 mins~ in my mirrors.
Even now I check my load on every stop
It depends on how it was loaded, some digger drivers cant load for shit

Having had formal training in industrial work sites, I identified a hazard and acted upon it. And had I not been a motorcyclist and known the hazards of the tiny stones, I would have even taken any note what so ever.

I can see where your coming from, but personally I don't think I could live with my self knowing I didn't act on something that could have prevented a death or serous harm to a person.

and if the fine gravel caused stone chips to your car or bike give the details to your insurance company and they will pay you out and go through the right channels to get truck driver prosecuted. Trust me i deal with this shit all the time at work. It is the drivers responsabillity to make sure his load is not spilling out onto the road. Evan bark from a logging truck.

No matter how the truck is loaded. Driver is responsible.

I have a mental picture of you in a ditch saying...."I wish someone had reported that gravel"
