This is my first post on this site as I've only had my scooter a couple of months and, from my perspective so far, I can't see much difference between jumping around threads, pages or bookmarked sites. I've been visiting UK's Chinese Scooter Club, US's Scootdawg, Oz's Scooter Community, as well as Kiwi Biker and The Scooter Review. I've been wondering if Del Fuego and co were going to start their own forum and would welcome it, as well as any other.
I have to admit I got blown away by some of the posts on the 'moved back to off-topic' thread. There's definitely some ill-feeling around but even within the scooter fraternity it seems. Can it be avoided? Probably not. Maybe the best solution is choice. I know I'm happy bouncing around.
I think what seems kinda unfair is that off road unregistered bikes are considered part of the main forum yet scooters arn't even though we pay for the right to be on the road. It was this attitude that caused one scooter rider who runs a website to leave KB even after rallying together a group of scooter riders for the bikoi
It is entirely possible to teach an old blond new tricks!!!
I can appreciate scooterists are upset with where they're placed as far as forum categories are concerned (and I agree it does seem unfair) but how is registration relevant in a website called Kiwi Biker? With respect, it's not called Registered Kiwi Biker or On-Road Kiwi Biker. It is "A site for all NZ motorcyclists". Were we upset when 50cc scooters weren't recognised as 'motorcycles' and therefore charged far less for registration? That said, I don't want to take away from anybody's good work and causes but I can't see the rationale for 'walking away'.

The answer to the question, "Why does Spank put the scooter forum in Off Topic?" is the same as the answer to the question, "Why does a dog lick his balls?"
The answer is, "Because he can."
