C-Spanner anyone?

I found it took an absolute eternity to turn it around with the C spanner, it's just so awkward and stiff in there. Found it way easier with a hammer and long pointed file. Tell me if you actually notice a difference because i didn't even after winding it up a significant amount, though maybe it had just had it.

Its because the spring rate is too light and no amount of extra preload is going to alter that limitation.
