Angry ACC aren't the only thieving cunts.. NZI/Lantern are too!

Opened some mail from NZI/Lantern Insurance today to find my annual renewal notice, skimming it when I get to a lovely bit down the bottom. Paraphased it read "We didnt make enough money this year, so every NZI customer with an excess currently under $1000 is having it bumped up by $150". Given I'd mostly stayed with NZI because I really liked having a $100 excess (meant it was worth claming on stuff like lost cellphones, smashed glasses etc) I was pretty unhappy. Rang them up and queried it, was told it applied across the board, and promptly told them to cancel all my insurance with them.

So if your an NZI/Lantern customer, read your renewal letters very carefully, because your probably in for a nasty surprise.

I'm now insured with AA insurance, who annoyingly still have a $200 excess but are over $100 cheaper a year in premimums. Does anyone know of any insurance company that still has $100 (or better yet $0) excess insurance for contents cover?

Can't be much help there. But for the record here is something interesting.

    RG150 - Learners - 3rd parts insurance for 17 y/o in 99 = $18
The following year they slap an 'admin' fee on it of $60
How does the admin cost more than the insurance? 3 times more!!????

    1. Did it occur to you to wonder how AA Insurance can do the same cover for less money despite being a much smaller company?
    2. It's you're.
