    Recommendations, please

I was talking with someone about the problems I'm having with the GSX250 and he reckons it sounds like the valves need to be adjusted. This, apparently, is not a do-at-home job as they need to have shims inserted.

Who, in the Hamilton area, would be the best to take the bike to to get this done and what would I be looking at, price-wise?

I also have to get the bottom of the sump sealed - it leaks like a bastard and a number of the bolts are stripped ("joys" of buying a second-hand engine, I guess) - but I figure I should be able to do that with a selection of 8mm bolts and a tap-and-die set.

I would like to get the bike operational before the worst of the winter weather sets in - I don't relish the prospect of walking to work in the pouring rain when I could suit up in decent wet-weather gear and ride in comfort.

I guess Road & Sport is the obvious choice, but they're 'kin expensive...

I really rate Lyndon at Boyd Honda, if I need something done that is beyond my meagre skills I get him to do it. Nothin' but good work.

    Cheers.

Rang "Rogues and Hawks" and they reckoned it'd cost about $120 for a "couple of hours" diagnosing to work out why the bike dies after 2 minutes and won't restart until cold.

LiasTZ reckons they charge more like $70-80 an hour and the quoted price was more like "one hour and one minute" - said it cost him $150 for an hour and a half service check.

Rang Bikes 'n' Bits and they quoted $50 + Govt Swindle Tax per hour and reckonned they should have it worked out in about an hour of testing.

What are Bikes 'n' Bits like for reliability, service etc. Anyone?

Before I take it in, I need to get some 8mm bolts and borrow a metric tap and die set so I can fix up that sump plate - pointless getting anyone to check it if oil's pouring out the bottom.
