Asking you all to consider supporting the Neurological Foundation of NZ in this, their annual appeal week. Most of you will know that I race to raise the profile of this organisation. Without them and their fantastic research skills, I probably wouldn't be sitting here typing this thread up right now.
Thanks for your support

Food for thought…
In 2011, large numbers of New Zealand’s baby boomers will be in retirement, with many boosting the numbers of dementia incidence because the likelihood of having some form of dementia increases from one in 1000 for the age group under 65, to one in 100 for people 65 and over.
Currently, the number of New Zealanders aged 65+ is approximately 500,000; by 2051 this figure is expected to reach 1.33 million. Growth in the 65+ age group will account for 87% of total population growth between 2005 and 2051. From the late 2030s the 65+ age group is projected to be more than 25% of our population. Clearly the need for ongoing funded research into dementia and other neurological disorders is a priority.
