Thread: Drying out the boots

    something I always do with wet boots or gloves is- give them a spin in the washing machine before putting them in the hot water cupboard. Arrange them in the bowl evenly, balanced like, and give them the hard spin, It cuts down the drying time by about 2/3rds.
    I worked in the forest once, logging, and used to come home many days with saturated boots, and discovered the spin trick. I always went out in the morning in dry boots.

    actually thats a good one....with gloves i wrap em in a old towel and stand on them to squash the water out..the dye comes out thoughI like the spin trick and will try it.Leather doesnt like getting "force dried" so after a few dry outs you have to treat with dubbin,sno seal,bees wax ...whatever...

    For a quicker dry, find a vacuum cleaner that can be made to blow. Plenty of warm air circulating should have you sorted in 30 minutes each at a guess

    Plus one on the vacuum cleaner blow job but do they still have the blow function these days?
