And your point is? Maori came here and killed the people who were here and took their land. British came here and killed the people who were here and took their land (less cannibalism, and slightly more democracy, though). The difference is? Ravaging land? Like burning out entire sections of forest to catch a bird, or forcing tens of others of animal species' into extinction? Fucking ravaging white fucks, they didn't do any of it! Useless, aye...

There are some succesfull Maori nowdays, Ive talked to some really nice Maori fellas working very hard at their jobs that dont get any recognition for their hardwork. Its the influence of the american gang culture that reels the Maori youth in today.

So its OK to overtake a country by killing and eating the local people - just because there wasnt many of them?

On that logic you would be OK with India taking us over - after all there are only a few of us.

BTW - there is no evidence that they couldnt survive for themselves - the fact is they were (proven by the fact that they were in the country and alive)

You know that you didnt actually have MP's back then right - that was a give from the white motherfuckers. And as for ravaging the land - seen any Moas latley (fuck you know nothing do you)

Morie orie's werent fit to take care of the land, there were very few and were struggling for food, they had no proper political system. Maori WERE capable of owning New Zealand they made resources and established a heirachy an political system, MP's amongst every tribe etc.

Indeed there are - and I have worked with and for a lot of them. Sadly stats show us there are a lot more that are wasters - they adopt the american gang culture simply because (like the american gangs) they are losers.

Lack of recoginitation for ones hard work is a sad fact for most people these days - across all races.

Their was cheifs that are likened to MP's, Ngapuhi the main tribe was like the beehive nowdays. The cheifs would meet other tribes and share resources and discuss matters sometimes fight eachother.

So wouldnt you say its unfair that the english come over and say we are going to have your land if you refuse we will kill you all. Think of your own house and property, if someone did this unjustice to you, Maori were fighting the unjustice, England were fighting for greed.
Human history in a nutshell, you could change Maori too Scot, Russian, Amerindian, Ainu, Inuit, I'm sure you get the picture. This country is doing pretty well. Ask the Tasmanian aboriginals, at a seance.
I guess claiming seabeds & airwaves is not really based on greed then?
Personally, most people I know of any creed find happiness in the wonderful culture we have in this wonderful country.

    .
No, Ive gone through the phase of it too, what happens is you get brought up usually in a poor neighbourhood or abusive family blah blah then want to become rich and make it. People say you wont make it in life because your Maori so you feel no self worth, so you do crime to get power like the king pins get in America or kill the ones who disrespected you.

    back ON topic,

Don't really have much choice on Waitangi day, as it is the wife's birthday, so pretty much do what I'm told...

On Australia day however, used to work with a bunch of Okkers and we made a special bbq and beers day to help them celebrate. Introduced them to Paua patties AND speights and laughed like fuck as they got stuck in, and then suffered the inevitable 'green bowled toilet' the next coupla days...

    Where's that fucking spanner...

I wish I had rhythm, a good singing voice & a bigger k**b. That would be worth celebrating.
